Dave wondering about something

Dave is a quite pensive fellow. As much as he enjoys napping, he cannot sleep all day. He wouldn't even want to, because there are many things he likes to do apart from napping. Even all-time great artists like David Bowie, Dave Matthews, David Gilmour, Leonardo Dave Inci, and Michael Jordan spent/spend their time on a variety of activities, not just one artform.

In this photograph, Dave is probably wondering about his early days on the mean streets of Iowa, and how they constituted a difficult, but valuable, time in his life. He is nostalgic for those days sometimes. 

Napping with his face smushed on the couch

This is a picture of Dave napping with his face smushed on the couch. He has to sleep like this sometimes, because his couch is actually a futon, and therefore the primary napping platform is on an incline. It is not ideal, but Dave makes the best of it. 

Fighter Dave

Usually he is pretty friendly, and while he sometimes accidentally pokes someone with his claws, he rarely does so on purpose. But Dave has been on edge lately. Back during his days growing up on the mean streets of Iowa, he always had to be on guard. Even in his quiet domestic life, he has retained some of his past disposition, always ready for a fight. Here, you can see Dave is biting Jack. Dave never does any real damage, but it is just one of the realities of living with Dave. 

In Dave's defense, Jack is usually being a jerkface when Dave decides to bite him. Jack, though much smaller than Dave, can still be a pesky guy. He might have been trying to steal Dave's napping location. In that case, Dave might have been perfectly justified in biting Jack. Naps are important. 

Longing for a new couch

Dave's couch has been very good to him over the past several years. There have been many good times, times Dave will remember for the rest of his life.  

But there are times when he looks at the couch, which is really a futon, and thinks to himself, "This couch has served me well, helping me develop countless legendary napping strategies. I would not have traded my time with this couch for the world, but perhaps I have gone as far as I can go with this couch. It may be time for a replacement, a new couch that can allow me to reach even further into the depths of greatness."

It looks like LeiLei has something else in common with The Dafe, a passion for investigating. That's what a cat has to do when he/she is not allowed outdoors. In some places, it is a sad reality that cats should not go outside. It is unsafe. So instead of investigating things like trees, bushes, and car tires, cats like LeiLei and Dave focus on things like bathtubs, leftover food, trash cans, and other such items. 

The Conch, Volume IX: The Wide Awake Version

Here you can see Dave in his typical Conch position, one he usually uses for napping. In this case, Dave is awake. He probably was startled during a nap, and decided not to exert energy to change his position. Dave doesn't like to waste his energy on things that don't need it. More than likely, Dave will return to his nap shortly, so it doesn't even make sense to move around.

Turtle Dave

Dave's size and flexibility allows him to present himself to the outside world in a variety of ways. He can spread himself out to a ridiculous degree, or he can make himself compact, like in this photograph. In this way, Dave has some of the same qualities as a turtle.

Making Biscuits

You may recall that it was mentioned long ago that Dave loves to make biscuits in his spare time. After a long wait, the day when you get to witness this specialty of Dave's has finally arrived.

Getting Along

Dave can be a difficult cat to live with, and Jack usually absorbs the bulk of Dave's sillier antics. But life with Dave is full of relaxing moments too, which is bound to be the case since Dave loves napping so much. Here you can see one such occasion, with the two kitties napping comfortably next to each other. 

Dave wishes you a festive Independence Day

Dave enjoys all holidays, and he is a big fan of America, so he plans to spend the bulk of the day napping.
