An Empty Food Dish

Dave prefers to be able to feed himself freely. Though he is nostalgic for his wild younger days on the mean streets of Iowa, he does not miss having to track down each meal. You can imagine Dave's heightened concern during the times when his food bowls are devoid of food. They might be empty because it is not meal time, or because they are being cleaned, but whatever the reason, Dave is uncomfortable if they are empty.

This is a good example of a DAFECON 3 situation.

A Truly Disturbing Sight

This morning, Dave witnessed a scenario he hoped to never face again. It was the sort of scenario that he once faced with unfortunate frequency when he was an alley cat on the mean streets of Iowa - a lack of food where there should have been food.

Dave's concern was quickly alleviated, however, when the food containers in Dave's home were filled to the brim with a bounty of fresh food. This pleased Dave greatly, and once again allowed Dave to relegate his hungry mode to the recesses of his mind, where it will lurk until the day it is needed.

Dave Wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving

Dave encourages you to enjoy this day of Thanksgiving. He is grateful for all the napping opportunities he has had this year (such as this, this, and this). He is also grateful for all the food he has been able to eat this year.

He knows that a lot of cats, much like his younger self, don't always have the same napping and feeding opportunities that Dave now has on a daily basis. Below you will find an example of the type of napping strategy that Dave plans to employ today.

Dave on Halloween

Dave enjoys a good tale, and Halloween is a great time to tell tales. It might even be the best day in the calendar year for telling tales. Here are a few that Dave shared today.

Making Biscuits

You may recall that it was mentioned long ago that Dave loves to make biscuits in his spare time. After a long wait, the day when you get to witness this specialty of Dave's has finally arrived.

Something Dave could not live without

Dave gets by without many frills. He doesn't ask for much in life. Having spent his formative years on the mean streets of Iowa, he knows he doesn't need much to survive. Even so, there is one thing he cannot live without, and that is food. Dave loves food. It nourishes his body, providing him with the energy he needs to perform to the fullest extent of his capabilities. Having readily available food allows Dave to focus on his napping. It allows him to take chances and be creative, bold, and brave, while never having to waste time chasing down mice or cheeseburgers. That extra time is what allows Dave to be such a great napper.
